Chartered on February 13, 2019 Webb County LULAC #22387 and its members have played an active role in advocacy, education, political participation and service. In a year we’ve partnered up with local government officials to develop and implement the County Government in the Classroom which showcases high school seniors the importance of county government and highlights the services county government provides. We supported the PINK to DO Breast Cancer Awareness Association and brought back the iconic Breast Cancer Awareness Walk; we established the #AMoverElVoto Zuma Master Class Campaign to register people to vote and create awareness which contributed to the 17,000 new voter registrants for the March 2020 primary elections; we sponsored the creation and charter Laredo’s first city wide Youth Council for high school students; we sponsored and helped chartered Laredo’s 1st LGBTQ+ PRIDE Council to advance and ensure equal justice under law for all Latinos – including our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) sisters and brothers; we’ve strengthen and empowered our membership through support and leadership opportunities; and most importantly we’ve raised funds for scholarships and will award over 20 $500.00 scholarship to high school seniors across Webb County.
